OUR Mandate & Beliefs

But you shall receive power (dunamis) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you (Acts 1:8 NKJV).

And this rock will be the bedrock foundation on which I will build my church (Ekklesia)—my legislative assembly, and the power of death will not be able to overpower it! ( Matthew 16:18 )

THE SCRIPTURES – The Bible is the inspired Word of God, the product of holy men of old who spoke and wrote as the Holy Spirit moved them. The New Covenant, as recorded in the New Testament, we accept as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine. (2 Timothy 3:16, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Peter 1:21)

THE GODHEAD – Our God is one, but manifest in three persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, being co-equal (Philippians 2:6). The Father is greater than all, sender of the Word (Logos) and the Begetter (John 14:28, 16:28, 1:14). The Son is the Word flesh-covered, the One Begotten, and has existed with the Father from the beginning (John 1:1,14,18). The Holy Spirit proceeds forth from both the Father and the Son and is eternal (John 15:26).

MAN, HIS FALL AND REDEMPTION – Man is a created being, made in the likeness and image of God, but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world. “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” “As it is written there is none righteous, no not one.” Jesus Christ, the Son of God was manifested to undo the work of the devil and gave His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God (Romans 5:14, 3:23, 1 John 3:8). Salvation is the gift of God to man, separate from works and the law, and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works acceptable to God (Ephesians 2:8).

ETERNAL LIFE AND THE NEW BIRTH – Man’s first step toward salvation is Godly sorrow that works repentance. The New Birth is necessary to all men, and is a prerequisite for eternal life with God. Only through Jesus can man be saved. (2 Corinthians 7:10, 1 John 5:12, John 3:3-5, Acts 4:12).

WATER BAPTISM – Baptism in water is by immersion, is a direct commandment of our Lord, and is for believers only. The ordinance is a symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and commitment to live in the resurrection power of the Spirit. (Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:4, Colossians 2:12, Acts 8:36-39).

BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT – The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to all believers in this dispensation and is received subsequent to the New Birth. Jesus is the Baptizer in the Spirit. This experience is accompanied by the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance (Matthew 3:11, John 14:16 & 17, Acts 1:8, 2:4,38 & 39, 19:1-7).

SANCTIFICATION – The Bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord. We believe in the Doctrine of Sanctification as a definite yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing until the consummation of salvation at Christ’s return (Hebrews 12:14, 1 Thessalonians 5:23, 2 Peter 3:18, 2 Corinthians 3: 18, Philippians 3:12-14, 1 Corinthians 1:30).

DIVINE HEALING – Physical and emotional healing are part of the believer’s inheritance while alive in the physical body, made possible through the atoning work of Jesus Christ. Believers can receive and/or convey physical healing by the laying on of hands for recovery or by the Gifts of the Healings by the Holy Spirit. (Mark 16:17, James 5:14 & 15, 1 Corinthians 12:9, 1 Peter 2:24, Matthew 8:17, Isaiah 53:4 & 5, Isaiah 61:1, Psalm 23:3, 34:18, 147:3, 3 John 2)

DELIVERANCE – Being freed from demons, their oppression's and afflictions, is part of the believer’s inheritance while alive in the physical body. Demons can occupy the soul and/or body of a believer, but not their spirit and can include repentance from personal sins as well as the sins of previous generations. Removing the legal rights of demons, breaking bloodline curses and casting out demons is the heritage of every believer. We believe that Jesus Christ has given all believers His authority to cast out demons and over all the power of the enemy. (1 John 3:8b, Matthews 10:1, 12:29, Mark 6:7, 16:17,18, Luke 10:19, 1 John 4:4)

THE GREAT COMMISSION – The Bible commands us to preach the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ in the entire world to every creature. Our job is not to just make converts, but to make disciples. We are to endeavor to work at this where we live in our own neighborhoods while stretching out to reach the uttermost parts of the earth at the same time (Mark 16:15 & 16, Matthew 28:19 & 20, Acts 1:8)

RESURRECTION OF THE JUST AND THE RETURN OF OUR LORD – The angels said to Jesus’ disciples, “This same Jesus shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into heaven.” His coming is imminent. When He comes, “…the dead in Christ shall rise first; then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the air…” (Acts 1:11, 1 Thessalonians 4:16 &17).

HELL AND ETERNAL RETRIBUTION – The one who physically dies in his sins without accepting Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the Lake of Fire and, therefore, has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repenting. The Lake of Fire is literal. The terms “eternal” and “everlasting”, used in describing the punishment of the damned in the Lake of Fire, carry the same thought and meaning of endless existence as used in denoting the duration of joy and ecstasy of saints in the presence of God (Hebrews 9:27, Revelation 19:20)

.

THE SANCTITY OF MARRIAGE – From the beginning of creation when God noticed that it was not good for man to be alone, marriage has been defined as a man leaving his father and mother and cleaving to his wife and the two becoming one flesh. When a man and woman get married they are joined together by God and no man should separate what God has joined together. A man, who finds a wife, finds a good thing, and the union of the man and woman is honorable and undefiled. Only one man and one woman may be joined together in holy matrimony. (Genesis 2:18 – 24, Matthew 19:4 – 6, Hebrews 13:4, Proverbs 18:22)

THE ASCENSION GIFTS OF CHRIST – Jesus Himself gave gifts to men upon His ascension, representing five aspects of His own ministry while He was on the earth. These gifts (commonly called the five-fold ministry) consist of: Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers. These gifts will continue to operate in the Church until Christ’s return, with special importance placed on the Apostle and Prophet as foundational gifts. (Ephesians 4:11, 1 Corinthians 12:28, Ephesians 2:20)

THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT – The Holy Spirit gives special supernatural gifts to members of the Body of Christ who have received the subsequent experience to Salvation called The Baptism Of The Holy Spirit. These nine gifts consist of: The Word Of Knowledge, The Word Of Wisdom, The Discerning Of Spirits, The Gifts Of Healings, The Working Of Miracles, The Gift Of Faith, Tongues, The Interpretation Of Tongues and Prophecy. These gifts only operate as the Spirit wills and at His discretion. They will continue to the end of the Church Age. (1 Corinthians 12: 1-11; 13: 8-10)
